Beware of hongkongcustomtailor.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by "greengreed8@[EMAIL PROTECTED] " <greengreed8@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 30, 2005 at 08:57 AM

I bought my custom suits from here. They claim the following:

"Custom Made Suit" - Yes he will measure you and that's it. Most
places will adjust the suit to perfection. This process may take a few
visits. In reality, you get the suit and he will NOT alter the suit
except for minor adjustments like sleeve length. He claims to be an
experienced tailor but I question his ability to make measurements.

"Free Alterations" - He will charge you $65 for an alteration. If the
jacket is too tight around the armpits, he will charge you and claim he
doesn't know what the problem is (despite his website stating "He will
guide you through the selection & fitting process, teaching you about
the finer points of tailoring, menswear & fabrication & style."

"N.J. Ramchandani Super 130's with cash mere" - When I asked him for
what this material is, he said it is 1% cashmere. This is deceptive.

Beware of his sales tactics, most specfically "bait and switch". He
will tell you its one material when making the sale and then deliver a
lower grade material.

Personally I tried to seek reasonable resolution with the vendor. He
instead refused to apologize or admit any misleading and deceptive
sales practices. He also refused to alter my suits. When I left in
disgust, he screamed expletives at me numerous times. I have never had
such vendor treatment before - only in New York City I guess.

I am re****ting my experience to the Better Business Bureau as well as
potential buyers. He claims that other vendors, notably Mohan's Custom
Tailors are deceptive in selling fake material when in reality, he is
doing the same.

In short, if you want to buy a suit from him, have everything he says
in writing or he will deny everything. If you can somehow get a great
fitting suit with a fabric you know to be what you ordered, then this
can be a good deal.
